Montessori Certified Teachers
Trained, experienced teachers are the foundation of an effective Montessori environment at Austin Children’s Academy. Our Montessori teachers have been rigorously trained beyond their university studies in the Montessori philospophy, priciples, and method to guide children in self-discovered learning; which is a process of assistance, correction, and encouragement that promotes development of mind, body, and spirit. Teachers adjust to each individual child’s learning pace and needs. They have the role of guiding students to explore new topics and accept challenges. Our Montessori teachers’ firm, supportive, and kind demeanor is the key to the success of ACA. They serve as role models of warmth, kindness, and respect, setting clear and consistent challenges in a positive and supportive environment.
All teachers at ACA work together in teams to make sure that each classroom environment is stimulating and motivating. They design materials and lesson plans that are engaging and often incorporate cultural teachings and holiday themes. Montessori materials are important to the implementation of the method. The high-quality, carefully crafted materials lead children to discover and understand concepts in a hands-on and engaging way. Each presents a distinct idea and has a self-correcting control to help the child learn successfully and independently.
